№ 207 Trekking on volcanoes of the group Klyuchevskoy: Tolbachik, Bezimyanniy Print E-mail

 

The best time for realization of the tour is from July 1 till August 30.

Date of arrival on a forming group for 2008: July 11, August 2.

The tour is in strength of tourists with medium physical ability: approximately 6 hours per day with a rucksack of 10-15 kg weight.

During the tour you will visit one of the most interesting for tourists places of Kamchatka - the Klyuchevskaya group of volcanoes, in which there is the highest and known volcano – Klyuchevskaya sopka (4750м). It is the region of the most intensitive manifestation of volcanism on the territory of Russia. You will make climbing on the most southern volcanoes of the group - Tolbachik Plosky volcano (3085м), and on the new volcanoes – the cinder cones (299м and 278м) of the Northern break of 1975. You will have a walk in the “Dead forest ”, wiped out during the eruption on a huge territory. You will make 2 climbings on volcanoes. You will visit surprising and unique the Valley of Geysers - a miracle of the world. You will have the possibility of observing the wild nature of Kamchatka: brown bears, salmon spawning in the rivers, birds and wolves.

Day 1. Meeting at the airport, transfer to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (20 kms.). Accommodation at the hotel, rest.

Day 2. Departure on an all-wheel drive vehicle to the region of Kozirevsk village (450км). In clear weather from this place you can see the landscape of the highest volcanoes of Kamchatka: Krestovsky (4057м), Ushkovsky (3903м), Klychevskoy (4750м), Kamen (4579м), Tolbachik Ostry (3082м), Tolbachik Plosky (3672м). Night in tents

Day 3. Departure on an all-wheel drive vehicle to the former seismostation Leningradskaya. Visit of the cones of the Northern break of Tolbachik volcano. Tolbachik cones – the special group of volcanic formations representing volcanoes in miniature, their height is about 100-200 meters. Night in tents.

Day 4. Acclimatization walk (4-6 hours) to the cones and to the “Dead forest” that was wiped out by slag and ash eruptions in 1975.

Day 5. Climbing on the top of the volcano Tolbachik Plosky (3085м), it’s not very difficult climbing, and it takes 7 - 8 hours. On the top of the volcano there is a large crater of 1,8 kms. wide and the depth of more than 500 meters. Returning to the camp. Night in tents.

Day 6. Trip by foot up to the Tolud River. This area amazes with lifelessness after the eruption of Tolbachik volcano in 1975. Night in tents.

Day 7. Trip by foot through the Tolud pass (1291м) under the Tolbachinsky pass. From the Tolud pass you can see another view of Tolbachik Ostry and Tolbachik Plosky volcanoes, Bolshaya Udina (2920m) and Malaya Udina (1945m), Ovalnaya Zimina (3080м). Night in tents.

Day 8. Trip by foot through the Tolbachinsky pass (1503m) up to the famous Polennitsa mountain, set up with separate basalt poles (this object is protected by UNESCO). The route passes on alpine meadows and old lava flows. On the way watching of craters Novy, Mars and Jupiter. These craters have appeared as a result of volcanic processes in 1945. Night in tents.

Day 9. Trip by foot through the pass (1500m) near Bezimyanny volcano. Night in tents.

Day 10. Climbing on Bezimyanny volcano (2880m). After the catastrophic eruption of 1958 this peak became very unusual in relief. Inside of a huge funnel the new huge cone grew. The time of climbing - 8 hours.

Day 11. Reserve day. Rest after the climbing. In case of bad weather the day is using for the climbing on the volcano.

Day 12. Trip by foot on Alpine highmountains up to the canyon of the Studjonaya River. It is possible to meet herds of wild snow seep on the rocks of the canyon. Night in tents.

Day 13. Trip by foot up to the Kopyto Mountain. Transfer on an all-wheel drive vehicle up to Kozirevsk village. Night in tents.

Day 14. Returning to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on an all-wheel drive vehicle. Accommodation at the hotel, rest.

Day 15. Helicopter excursion to the Valley of Geysers with a fly-around of volcanoes Karimsky (1486м). And Maly Semyachik (1560м), excursion by foot in the Valley of Geysers. No one of the unique places can be compared to the uniqueness of the Valley of Geysers – an indisputable Miracle of the world, most precious natural Relic, which is in the inheritance of the mankind. In the Valley there are more than 20 large geysers. The Giant, Pearl, Sugar, Triple, Cone, Fountain, Small, Large, Slot – there are some names. There are some geysers, which fountain each 10-12 minutes, and there are such, that steam once each 4-5 hours. Clubs of vapor, fountains of boiled water, the magnificent colors of slopes, on which hot waters flow, together with bright green of grass and trees create a fairylike show. Dinner at the Valley of Geysers. In the evening meeting in “the yurt” at the local farmer, the unique person Alexander Yastrebov, taste of dishes of local plants. The concert program on a coast of a picturesque lake, the legends, fairy tales. Return to the hotel.

Day 16. Excursion in the city. Visit of the State Regional Museum. Visit of the fish market. Buying of the Kamchatka souvenirs. Transfer to the airport, saying goodbye.

The cost of the tour for 1 person 1270 EURO, if the group consists of 10 persons. Afterpay for single accommodation in hotels 150 EURO.

The cost of helicopter excursion to the Valley of Geysers and The Uzon caldera 445 EURO, and is paid separately in case of favorable weather conditions.

During the tour tourists carry all their equipment and food themselves. If it necessary there is a possibility to use porters and satellite telephone for an extra charge.

The cost of the tour includes:
