¹ 201 On volcanoes and sources of the south of Kamchatka

 

   

The best time for realization of the tour is from July: from July 1 till September 10.

Date of arrival on a forming group for 2008: July 10, August 8.

The tour is in strength of tourists with medium physical ability: approximately 6 hours per day with a rucksack of 10-15 kg weight.

During the tour you will visit a huge caldera and two lakes of Ksudach volcano, Golyginskoye lake, where is a high probability to observe salmon spawning, and brown bears fishing. Also you can take pleasure of bathing in the largest hot sources of Kamchatka located at Khodutka volcano. You will visit Gorely and Mutnovsky active volcanoes. During flights by helicopter you will see volcanoes and wild nature of Kamchatka from the height.

Day 1. Meeting at the airport, transfer to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (20 kms.). Accommodation at the hotel, rest. Equipment check.

Day 2. Flight by helicopter to the Ksudach caldera (1,2 hours). During the flight you will see such volcanoes as: Viluchinsky (2175ì), Mutnovsky (2323ì), Gorely (1829ì), Asacha (1910ì), Khodutka (2087ì). Excursion to the hot springs of Kluchevoye Lake Bathing in natural hot springs. Night in tents.

Day 3. Excursion in the Ksudach caldera. Survey of pumice-stone sediments and fumaroles. In the ancient crater of Ksudach volcano you can see the most beautiful lake of Kamchatka with high rocky lakesides - Shtybelya Lake. It is possible to see bears and snow sheep. Night in tents.

Day 4. Passage to Golyginskoye lake (15 kms). During the trip you will see the results of eruption of the volcano in 1907, when enclosing woods were covered with volcano slag. Night in tents.

Day 5. Completion of passage to Golyginskoye lake (7 kms). Accommodation in houses, with shower and toilet in rooms for 2 - 4 persons. Rest, walk. In favorable period, since July till September, it is possible to observe salmon spawning and bears from specially equipped watching platforms.

Day 6. Rest, walk, Russian banya (sauna). In favorable period, since July till September, it is possible to observe salmon spawning and bears from specially equipped watching platforms.

7-8-9 Days. Passage to Khodutka volcano (48êì) In approaching to the volcano, a perfect view of rocky cones of Khodutka and Pryjomysh volcanoes opens. Crossing of the large valley of the Khodutka river through the birch wood. The passage is finished on a large clearing, where there is a large hot lake, from which a hot river of 30 meters wide flows out. Rest on a lakeside. Bathing in the hot lake and river. Night in tents.

Day 10. Rest on Khodutkinskye hot springs. Walk on the bottom of Khodutka volcano, if you want you can make climbing on the top.

Day 11. Departure by helicopter (1 hour) to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Accommodation at the hotel, rest.

Day 12. Transfer on an all-wheel vehicle to the high-mountainous plateau between Avachinsky and Koryaksky volcanoes (45km). Accommodation at the tourist camp « The Three volcanoes ». Acclimatization  walk at the bottom of Koryaksky volcano and to the “Camel” mountain (5 - 6 hours). Night in houses.

Day 13. Climbing on Avachinsky volcano (2749ì). Climbing on a young cone of the volcano, from the edge of the volcano one can see a magnificent view. In the south you can see Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Elizovo, the valley of the Avacha river and Avacha bay, volcanoes: Vilychinsky, Mutnovsky, Gorely. In the west - the massive cone of Koryaksky volcano. In the north –the valley of the Nalycheva river and Zhupanovsky and Dzendzur volcanoes. In case of difficulty, probably, returning back to the camp. Climbing lasts for 6-8 hours. In the evening, transfer on an all-wheel drive vehicle to the hotel. Accommodation at the hotel. Rest.

Day 14. Helicopter excursion to the Valley of Geysers with a fly-around of volcanoes Karimsky (1486ì) and Maly Semyachik (1560ì), excursion by foot in the Valley of Geysers. No one of the unique places can be compared to the uniqueness of the Valley of Geysers – an indisputable Miracle of the world, most precious natural Relic, which is in the inheritance of the mankind. In the Valley there are more than 20 large geysers. The Giant, Pearl, Sugar, Triple, Cone, Fountain, Small, Large, Slot – there are some names. There are some geysers, which fountain each 10-12 minutes, and there are such, that steam once each 4-5 hours. Clubs of vapor, fountains of boiled water, the magnificent colors of slopes, on which hot waters flow, together with bright green of grass and trees create a fairylike show. Dinner at the Valley of Geysers.  In the evening meeting in “the yurt” at the local farmer, the unique person Alexander Yastrebov, taste of dishes of local plants. The concert program on the coast of a picturesque lake, the legends, fairy tales. Return to the hotel.

Day 15. Excursion in the city. Visit of the State Regional Museum. Visit of the fish market. Buying of the Kamchatka souvenirs. Transfer to the airport, saying goodbye.

The cost of the tour for 1 person 1550 EURO, if the group consists of 10 persons. Afterpay for single accommodation in hotels 150 EURO.

The cost of helicopter excursion to the Valley of Geysers and The Uzon caldera 445 EURO, and is paid separately in case of favorable weather conditions.

During the tour tourists carry all their equipment and food themselves. If it necessary there is a possibility to use porters and satellite telephone for an extra charge.

The cost of the tour includes:
1. 3 time meals during all the tour.
